Undercover Resin

Die cut a heart out of mount board. 

Applied gesso. 

Stamped blobby plants. 

Out lined with the mixtion relief and left to dry until it goes clear when dry but is still tacky. 

Applied gilding flakes to the relief. 

Filled in the blobby plants with the prism. Left it to dry overnight. I love the way the prism reacts whilst drying. 

When fully dry (the hardest bit of this project was not sticking my finger in it to see if its dry, lol) I painted the background with fresco paint mixed with a small amount of infusions. 

Coloured in the stems and stamped on the background with my favouritist stamp of all time! I must use it on nearly everything I make. 

The gilding flakes seemed to disappear a little and the prism went dull! I'm not sure if it's because I did get the background paint on it and I think with rubbing it off I have some how dulled the prism and not rubbed some of the paint off the gilded outline! 

To bring back the shine I applied glossy accents crackle medium and stuck on a 'melt pot' heart with Fantasy Film placed in it whist molten.

Blooming Posh Cogs

On watercolour card I applied different paints to achieve hopefully to look like rust!

 

Stamped flowers. I covered the flower heads with painted clay flowers in the colours of my take on the challenge colours. I interpret ochre as a muddy yellow!

Using the spare cogs from the other posh cogs project I stuck them to the background with matt medium.

Finally applying 3D drops around the flowers then metallic paint to edge the card.

Posh Cogs

I really like trying to turn card n grey board look like rust and obviously using infusions in every project I do!!

Applied sand texture paste to the grey board.

I used a combination of paints to achieve a rust effect.

Sprinkled infusions onto the silk and spritzed with water. Waited for the magic to happen. Advantage of silk is that it looks the same on the back as on the front. I applied matt medium by dabbing it on with a brush so as not to move the colours.

Also did the same with some Kraft card. Using the same infusions as the silk but the effect is totally different.

Die cut the silk, Kraft card and waxed paper.

Arranged cogs on the background then matt medium to glue them in place.

Embellished with some die cut screws and cogs which had already been 'rusted' with rusting powder.

Finally stamped onto card then tried to make it a little bit rusty!

Bag of Infusions

Pre-washed small drawstring bag from my stash.

Using a brush wet the front of the bag.

Sprinkled infusions and waited for the magic to happen.

Stamped with fabric ink. Heat set with my heat gun.

Coloured the flowers with infusions mixed with fabric medium.

Dotted paint at the bottom of the bag, once dry brushed on a wash of infusions.

Applied fabric glitter paint to the flower heads.

Heat set to 'hopefully' stay permanent on the fabric.

Really quick and easy with great results. The infusions are so versatile.

Magical Infusion

Using a page from my journal.

Applied white gesso to the grey board.

Spread crackle paste through the stencil and left to dry.

Once dry applied a thin layer of Gesso. Then the magic begins!

Sprinkled infusions on the crackled flowers spritzed with water and the infusions disappeared!!! Tried again and most of the infusions disappeared! When I say I wanted the magic to happen I didn’t mean for them to disappear I wanted to see the explosion of colours!

Not to be defeated I carried on with the background and sprinkled rusty car on to the areas not crackled then spritzed with water. At least that was more successful!

Then a 'light bulb' moment I remembered I needed to seal the crackle once dry but if I did that now the infusions would move.

Dry brushed Smoked Paprika around the edges and also dry brushed Key Lime in the center.

I sprayed a gloss varnish all over the background. Put it to one side to dry.

OMG once dry there was a white ghosting/shadow formed around the flowers! Magic again, lol! I am not artist trained (my profession is a qualified nurse) so I don’t know why this happened! If anybody out there in blog land could tell me that would be brilliant or could it be pure magic!

Again not to be defeated, on a separate piece of thin card I brushed the infusions with pearlizing medium (in keeping with the glam theme) across the card. Finally something turned out how I had imagined.

Placed 2 blobs of gloss gel medium onto my craft sheet. Sprinkled infusions on the gel then using a sponge mixed the infusions as I sponged through the stencil.

Once dried I cut them out. Shaped them and glued them on top of the crackle flowers.

For the centres of the flowers I applied a blob of pva glue and sprinkled infusions over the top.

When everything was dry mixed a tiny amount of infusions with texture paste and scrapped through the squiggles on the stencil.

I stamped the sentiment on card left over from the flowers. Coloured 'Bloom' with a mix of white chalk paint and infusions. Tore the edges and dipped my finger into a tiny tiny amount of infusions and water and applied to the torn edges.

Used silicon glue to adhere them to the background.

To finish I Splattered with white paint.

I have only used the Rusty Car and Slime infusions for all of this design! The amount of different colours and versatility of these little magic crystals/powders is staggering. I love using them.

Here's a quick make I did in my art journal.

Sprinkled infusions onto page and spritzed with water until I was happy with the background. I can't leave the infusions alone! Lol.

Placed masks insitu.

Then stamped around and partly onto the masks.

Removed masks. I was a little disappointed as the masked works didn’t really show up, only where the repositionable glue had lifted some of the infusions!!

Put the masks back on and using a pen outlined the words.

Happy with the result. I could colour in the stamped images but don’t want to cover any of the infusions!

Purple Haze

• ·         Firstly I put blobs of Masking Fluid in 3 places on the card. Using a straw I blew the fluid outwards. I must admit that I did have to practice the blowing as my first few attempts went completely wrong! Then waited for it to dry.
• ·         Sprinkled infusions. Spritzed with water. Left to dry.
• ·         Rubbed the masking fluid to remove it (I thought they looked like dandelion heads).
• ·         Using my favourite PaperArtsy stamps I embossed the images with white embossing powder.
• ·         I coloured in the stamped images my new Seth Apter Fresco paints, so obviously I had to use each colour!
• ·         Added distress stickles which by a happy accident took on the infusion colours.
• ·         For the flower stalks I used white 3D glue. Once insitu I thought they looked really out of place but as they dried the glue also absorbed some of the infusions, flattening a little so looked more connected to the design.
• ·         Finished with a splattering of pearl white paint then mounted onto black card.

Tangerine Dream

Hello, it's been a while since I've been on my blog. I've decided I'm going to cut down on the writing as it's the bit of the process I least enjoy so that hopefully I will blog more!

The blog post that inspired me was by Jennie Atkinson .

• ·         Decorate grey board ring binder from my stash.
• ·         Prepared the surface with white gesso.
• ·         Scrapped grunge paste randomly.
• ·         Glued various clay leaves, feathers, and owl. Plastic flowers and gems. Rose already made from a zip. Brass light bulb.
• ·         Sprinkled on infusions until I was happy with the effect. I got carried away and did the back of the binder too. Love the infusions they are so fascinating to watch the colours split when spritzed with water.
• ·         Mixed infusions with gloss medium and brushed onto the flowers. Using my finger I applied the remaining gloss/infusion mix as a highlight to the rest of the design.
• ·         Stamped with the paints in various places and around the 'DREAM'. The remaining paint I applied with my finger to the metal label tag.
• ·         Attached and filled in DREAM with glossy accents. Left it dry.
• ·          Filled a small glass vial with glitter.
• ·         Using glossy accents stuck the DREAM label and vial the front of the binder.
